It might not be as tight of a fit (you might get some gaps between the boards) but I think it could work!

I wood work once in three blue moons, so I don’t want to buy one just for this purpose. I’m wondering if you think I could get away with just wood gluing and nailing the wood pieces onto the book shelf without first Kregging them together. Thanks!!!

Thanks Kristy! That was actually display art from The Gap that we asked about in the store (they said we could have it after they were done with it).

Wondering if you could share where you got the awesome two piece bike art that is above the unit you made? Husband and I love biking and this would be perfect in our office!

That detail might be in the comments somewhere for you. So sorry, I don’t remember offhand and I’m not home to measure for ya! It wouldn’t be a bad idea to measure your own expedit, just because if there’s some slight difference (like yours came with bigger washers or something since they occasionally change that stuff over the years) it wouldn’t hurt to base the cuts off your own bookcase.

What were the lengths? I see you made 3 pieces for the top, 3 for the bottom, 3 for each side.

In reply to Danielle.

We always stand right there when the baby’s in the pad, so there’s no real fear of them rolling out and the pad seems to stay put thanks to the snap system. Ours was from Buy Buy Baby back when Clara was born. It’s an organic one if that helps you locate it!
