I think I used liquid deglosser since it was sort of matte feeling but you’d want to sand if it’s shiny/glossy.

Hi Sherry! I love the look of the vanity! My husband and I are about to tackle a similar project with our bathroom vanity. We also have a musty old smell underneath the cabinets! Yuck!

Just wondering if y’all sanded the vanity and the doors or just primed?

Hi John and Sherry! I love your blog, it was such an inspiration to me that my husband and I started our own! I have a question about the paint you used here, I love the color (Silhouette), but what is the finish? I usually go with semi-gloss for cabinets but this looks flat from the photos? Thanks, keep up the great posts!

It’s by Benjamin Moore (satin finish). I just brushed it on. Definitely use primer under your coats to get a nice hold.

Who makes the Silhouette color? What type of finish? Satin? Eggshell? Did you brush it on?

we are moving into a house with all natural oak cabinets – not really our style and we want to paint them. What is the best way to paint cabinets? What type of paint do you use? How many coats? Etc…have no idea where to start!
