Painted brick is in style NOW.
PLEASE, PLEASE be kind to future DIYers and seal brick before you paint it! Otherwise, you can’t “restore” the brick without sandblasting, which is as expensive as it is laborious.

By: Sara https://www.younghouselove.com/shes-a-brick-house/comment-page-4/#comment-1324658 Thu, 10 Jan 2013 02:35:54 +0000 http://www.younghouselove.com/?p=54337#comment-1324658 its too late now, but i think if the room was painted something in a red tone, the brick wall wouldn’t have looked as ackward. maybe a terracotta or different light reddish tone. the brick would have seemed to blend in more with the rest of the room and the slanted ceilings wouldnt have been as noticable. i dont think a sunroom has to match the colors in the rest of the house as it is almost outside of the house. i think it could have given the room a more warm feeling as apposed to the cold/ serious/ plain grey. you guys are such great decoraters that once the rest of the furniture goes in there, i bet it will seem warm and cozy again, so i cant wait to see it!
