I’m waiting for my not-at-all leftover or inexpensive upholstery fabric to arrive from West Elm, so I can upholster my first ever chair seat, so I thought I’d pop over to YHL ’cause I knew you guys would have an easy-to-follow chair seat tutorial. I feel much more confident now.

I know you’re only doing like three ‘real’ posts a week now, but I love the stuff you’re doing in your forever home and your archives are really a treasure trove. I’ve got a chandelier in the garage that I’m painting (I think it’s actually the same color you used on the one in your 2nd home’s office!) and, if I work up the courage, I’m planning to paint my kitchen cabinets some time this summer too, after many watchings of your video where you always say ‘paint’ but mean ‘primer.’ (LOL!) Thanks for all you do!

It’s tough! We have been eying those pretty white ergonomic chairs from places like Overstock.com that are sleek (white leather, clean lines, etc) but still look comfortable. Hope it helps!

I came to your site because I’m looking for a solution. I need a really really comfortable and supportive desk chair. I spend long hours editing photos and I have a bad back (at 33!) I also want it to have some style. Have you seen anything out there?

I got two beautiful Bernhardt (yes, BERNHARDT) chairs from my local Goodwill for $9.99 each, so that will be my next upholstery project. I can’t wait :).

I just discovered your blog while surfing on my smartphone on a 17 hour road trip – I’m hooked! You have such great ideas & a fun writing style, I’m hoping my battery holds out for a while, I’m not ready to stop reading! I love everything so far, you have an amazing eye for potential & color, not to mention nerves of steel! I’m dying to paint everything in my new (to me) vanilla-plain house, including furniture, but am slightly terrified and more than slightly clueless!
