In reply to Lindsay.

I would do demo first because it could scratch your finish. We reglazed right at the end. Good luck!

Our tub is pink, and we are planning on either getting it re-glazed or painting it ourselves white. We also will be ripping out the vinyl tub surround panels (underneath is the original tile). Should we paint/re-glaze the tub first? Or do the panel demo and re-installation first?

Thanks!

In reply to M’lea Cole.

I would price it out both ways and then see if the actual amount that you’d have to spend would be worth it. Sometimes that makes things really clear (for example, you might say “it’s totally worth $500 to have that space, but not worth 3K!”).

However, the optimal floor plan includes moving a wall 8″. It doesn’t sound like much but when the Master bathroom is only 48″ deep, it makes a huge difference. Only problem is there is a window in the way that would need to move or be replaced with a 8″ smaller window. Do you think it would be worth it?

I put ours on an old dresser that I found at a thrift store. You can see it here if you are interested. My little blog was also started to show our house progress to family. http://8400victoria.wordpress.com/
