It’s probably the most comfortable thing we’ve ever sat on. We also tried to replicate the shelves that you hung with some less expensive shelving from Ikea. Our living room now looks a lot like the one in this image. Thanks for the inspiration!

By coincidence my living/dining area is shaped a lot like yours and this has helped me tremendously in figuring out where to put everything!

In reply to Meghan.

So sorry, I don’t. But it was purchased in the store in the ottoman/bench aisle (as opposed to online). Hope it helps!

I’m moving into a new house and upgrading from a 537 condo to a 1635sqft house and I love your blue bench from Target. Do you happen to remember the name of it. I’m looking to do a bench seating dining table to save on room. I look forward to looking at your other room ideas.

I have a similar bench that I use in a comparable fashion in my living/dining room and it always impresses guests. Not sure if yours does this too, but if you flip over the top of our bench it turns into a completely removable hard-surfaced tray with handles. So, in our case, it works as an ottoman and bench (soft side), and a serving tray and appetizer tray (hard underside), not to mention the practicality of the storage space for our games below.

This has to be the direction of furniture in the future. Multi-purpose, practical and stylish.

Beautiful work on your home!

I’ve been loving your bench idea for almost two years now. I very (im)patiently waited for the right fit- both literally and financially to come along and it’s finally happened! Look at this beauty: http://www.target.com/Versa-Faux-Leather-Bench-Chocolate/dp/B00138NHQW/ref=huc_ic_1_pn and even better, check out the price! I watched and waited and pounced on it for $47.00!

So excited to see how it works out! Thanks for the inspiration :)

If you go to Home Depot and ask them to show you metal anchors they only really make one kind so you’ll find them. They’re basically like little metal parking cones that you sink into the wall and screw into. Good luck!
